HELP STOP CUTS TO THE UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION PROGRAM IN OHIO
HB 394 in the Ohio Legislature, if passed, would do the following:
Reduce maximum number of weeks of unemployment compensation from 26 weeks to between 12 to 20.
Punish seniors by deducting Social Security retirement benefits from unemployment compensation so that seniors received much less in unemployment compensation
Require claimants to work in at least three quarters of the year in order to be eligible. No other state requires this.
Automatically disqualify any worker who loses his/her job from receiving unemployment benefits if they violate anything in their employee handbooks. NO OTHER STATE DOES THIS!
At the time time HB 394 cuts benefits for workers who lose their jobs, the bill cuts taxes that businesses pay for a combined total of $313 million per year in employer tax cuts!
